Bob and I grew up in the same neighborhood and attended the same school. Our friendship goes back nearly 60 years. Although our careers led us onto different paths, we managed to stay in touch through writing or with updates from his mother. Bob was a very special, highly intelligent with a down-to-earth wit. I will miss him greatly. My condolences go to his immediate family in Scotland and to other family members in USA.
